　　把漢語(yǔ)內(nèi)容關(guān)系密切的兩個(gè)句子甚至更多句子合譯為英文的一句就是合句譯法。翻譯時(shí)，既可能合譯為一個(gè)主從句，也可合譯為成分較為簡(jiǎn)單(如蘊(yùn)含非謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞等)的簡(jiǎn)略句。其優(yōu)點(diǎn)在于不只用詞不多，而且句子顯得流利。合句譯法的方法次要有：

　　這句話的后半局部示意的是結(jié)果，在翻譯時(shí)用一個(gè)定語(yǔ)從句the time came when the doctor said thatIwould no longer need them將其銜接起來(lái)。

　　原文的幾個(gè)短旬可被分為兩個(gè)局部，后面一局部補(bǔ)充闡明前面一局部的“弱點(diǎn)”。利用破折號(hào)可能簡(jiǎn)略明了地表達(dá)出補(bǔ)充闡明的關(guān)系。

　　[例8]不留意眼睛的勞動(dòng)，長(zhǎng)時(shí)間近距離用眼或長(zhǎng)期的不正確姿勢(shì)，會(huì)使人眼處于視疲勞形狀，進(jìn)而構(gòu)成近視眼。

　　(6)為了強(qiáng)調(diào)語(yǔ)氣而采用斷句

　　[例2]與會(huì)者對(duì)這個(gè)成績(jī)的觀念差別太大，致使發(fā)生了爭(zhēng)持，一時(shí)會(huì)場(chǎng)的氛圍緩和起來(lái)。

　　2.合句法
